North Fork House
After vacationing for years at a spectacular Montana ranch, the owners of North Fork House jumped at the opportunity to own their own slice of paradise. They were in love with the mountains of Big Sky, but not the traditional Western lodge style; so the couple turned to architect Jerry Locati and Blue Ribbon Builders to create an elegant home driven by clean lines and handcrafted details. North Fork House has a decidedly Arts and Crafts feel to it with Prairie Style woodwork and furniture.
The home blends into its mountainside setting perfectly with traditional log siding, dry-stacked rock and cedar shakes; but the inside is an expression of the owners’ individual style. The rooms are illuminated by light from vast windows, spilling onto Italian travertine floors. Neutral colors, exposed timbers and handcrafted moldings add warmth to every room, including an enviable game room. The master suite is marked by a bright, cozy window seat. And the kitchen is an intimate and efficient 3-point style with a granite island and an oversized counter for casual entertaining.
