Pioneer House
Set on 20 acres in Moonlight Basin Ranch, the Pioneer House is at once rustic and elegant—with rugged spruce post and beam and graceful curves throughout. The stucco and cedar shake exterior is a creative departure from traditional Montana style but the interior has a decidedly Western flair with large character logs and a grand stone fireplace.
From curved black granite countertops in the kitchen to a magnificent winding staircase and a gently curved log railing on the mezzanine, every detail throughout the Pioneer House was meticulously crafted. The kitchen island—an ideal spot for a quick meal or a glass of wine—is crafted from an appealing combination of stacked rock, granite and log posts. The color and texture of the hardwood oak and slate floors contrast beautifully with the faux plaster walls and log accents. And the simplicity of the neutral plaster draws attention to the owners’ unique furnishings and impressive animal mounts, all of which add the family’s own signature to the house.
